Tairawhiti Nurses' Portal
"Nau mai haeremai ki tenei wahanga ipurangi akoranga mo nga Nehi me nga Kai Whakawhanau Pēpi"
Welcome to the Nursing and Midwives Education Website - Tairawhiti. This has evolved out of the realisation that many nurses in the Tairawhiti region across all sectors were not aware of some of the educational and professional development activities that are available to them.
It is the intention to ensure that information about educational opportunities is available to as many nurses as possible; to work together to support one another and our entire nursing community.
The Strategic Goals for Nursing and Midwifery in Tairawhiti (below) provides clear guidance and aligns well with the Tairawhiti District Health Boards Strategic and Annual Plan www.tdh.org.nz

National Diabetes Nursing Knowledge and Skills Framework
All nurses, regardless of practice setting, are likely to have contact with people with diabetes. The NDNKSF provides an outline of the specific knowledge and skills registered nurses need to provide care and education for people with diabetes. The NDNKSF is not a programme – rather, it is a toolkit to guide the professional development of nurses working with people with diabetes.
