Cardiac Nurse Specialist Role spans across the cardiology field.

Mainly deals with Acute Coronary Syndrome.

Assists visiting Cardiologists, Physicians and General Practitioners by ensuring patients have access to cardiac investigations in the outpatient setting in an appropriate timeframe.

Referral hub for nuclear medicine scans requests.

Referral hub for all cardiac patients post cardiac procedures.

Responsible for cardiac investigation pre-admit clinic, where patients are consented for angiography, investigations and PCI +/- Stenting.

Co-ordinates and supports patients prior to CABG, Valve replacement, EP study, ICD and pacemaker insertions requiring accommodation and transport assistance.

Provides a nurse led clinic service for cardiac patients each Wednesday to educate, support and refer to appropriate services, for example Heart recovery programme and or Green Prescription.

Organises and co-ordinates monthly cardiology clinics.
