Oncology Clinical Nurse Specialist

This role exists to manage the needs of adult cancer patients undergoing non-surgical treatment for malignancy (chemotherapy, radiotherapy, hormone manipulation, novel therapies) usually alongside our visiting specialists from Mid-central (radiation oncology, medical oncology, haematology).

It provides individual care co-ordination and service co-ordination through the continuum from diagnosis, through treatment, supportive care and rehabilitation and/or transition to Palliative Care.


Breast care Nurse

Manages those with a breast cancer diagnosis through the pre operative decision-making process, through surgical and post-operative phase until referral to oncology services.

These roles are supported by a part-time Oncology Nurse – Susan Egan.

Attached to this nursing service is a part-time social worker
